What's new in Open Icons.

  1. Smarter search, everywhere

    improved

    Search now catches close relatives even without an exact match — typing "globe" also finds "global" — and packs that name things differently (like "user group") surface under the common term. Searching across all packs now groups results by pack instead of one mixed grid, and every icon view shows related icons from the same pack.

  2. Figma plugin: jump straight to a selected icon

    new

    Select an identified icon on the canvas and the plugin now jumps into that icon's library, reveals it, and flashes a highlight — instead of leaving you wherever you were browsing. Toggleable in Settings.

  3. Figma plugin: Auto size and color-safe swaps

    improved

    A new Auto size mode keeps insert/replace sized to match the current selection, alongside fixed presets. Swapping a single-color icon now keeps its existing fill color instead of resetting to black.

  4. Settings is now a popup

    improved

    The Figma plugin's Settings and About panels moved into a proper modal, with new toggles for auto-jump-to-library and grouped search results.

  5. Figma plugin is live

    new

    The Open Icons plugin is now on the Figma Community — search and insert any icon as an editable vector, switch variants, swap a selection between packs, and identify icons in your file.

  6. A bolder identity

    improved

    A vivid orange (#FF3D03) is now the brand color across buttons, accents and chips — matched to the logo. The home page leads with a warm sunset hero.

  7. Redesigned icon-pack cards

    improved

    Each pack now previews real sample icons on a fanned set of tiles that spread into a row on hover, over a soft gradient panel.

  8. Search from the home page

    new

    A full-width search bar sits right in the hero — press / to focus it, type, and jump straight into results across every pack.

  9. Water-ripple hero

    new

    Move your cursor over the hero and the sunset ripples beneath it — a lightweight WebGL effect that falls back to the still image where unsupported.

  10. Doodle Icons — a 14th pack

    new

    451 hand-drawn icons join the library, bringing it to 14 packs and ~17,745 icons. Bundled and served from Open Icons itself.

  11. Rebuilt Figma plugin

    improved

    Browse-first home, size controls, light/dark/device themes, pack & shape detection of a selection, and one-click pack swaps — including swapping a whole multi-selection at once.

  12. A fresh look

    A warm new palette with a bright orange accent, Libertinus Serif titles, a redesigned hero, and a Light / Dark / Device theme switcher across the site.

  13. Installable PWA + Bootstrap variants

    Open Icons is now installable as a PWA, with sharper SEO and social cards. Bootstrap Icons gained an outline/fill variant switch.

  14. Figma plugin

    Search all ~18,000 icons at once with per-pack filters, or jump into a single library.
